Artist Conk belonging to the same family as Asian Reishi (Gandoderma lucidum) grows abundantly in the Pacific Northwest. It is probably most well know as a canvas for art as one can scratch into the underside of the mushroom creating a picture and it will likely stay there forever hence the name Artist Conk.
Here at Ojas we use a dual extraction process when working with mushrooms where we use half of the amount of mushroom to make a alcohol/ honey extract and then we make a strong tea decoction with the rest, letting this brew simmer for about an hour concentrating the liquid. Then the two are blended together. This process is done because the water extracts the polysaccharides known as Beta Glucans which are useful as a prebiotic for important bacteria such as lactobacillus and other probiotics. The alcohol extracts the bitter triterpenes which are hepatoprotective and assist with digestion, and the assimilation of nutrients and elimination.
In China the Gandoderma lucidum also called lingzhi represents the combination of spiritual potency and the essence of immortality. .So if your looking to increase your spiritual connection or you think you may want to be immortal maybe give Gandoderma ar try ;)
Ojas Naturals Honey Extracts are created using a proprietary process developed from traditional Ayurvedic methods. The honey used in the extraction process works to extract different constituents of the plants, providing a more complete extraction while also adding a pleasant, sweet flavor and, according to the Ayurvedic tradition, honey acts as a carrier during the digestive process, carrying and assimilating the herbs deeper into tissues.
