Guayusa, a traditional tea related to Yerba Mate, is known for its use by the native Quechua people of Ecuador. Commonly used by Indigenous families in the wee hours of the morning, where, while they wait for the tea to brew, they share their dreams from the previous night. Once all the dreams are shared, the wisest elder will interpret the dreams. This is also a time to share stories and teachings for the youth. Once the morning ritual is finished everyone departs to go to work using the energy of the tea.
Guayusa leaves contain caffeine, amino acids, vitamins, and antioxidants. Similar to Green and Black tea, Guayusa contains L-theanine, which balances caffeine. Guayusa also contains the alkaloids theobromine, found in Cacao, and theophylline, which is found in the camellia sinensis tea plant. Both of these alkaloids have been shown to improve concentration and also increase energy.
Ojas Naturals Honey Extracts are created using a proprietary process developed from traditional Ayurvedic methods. The honey used in the extraction process works to extract different constituents of the plants, providing a more complete extraction while also adding a pleasant, sweet flavor and, according to the Ayurvedic tradition, honey acts as a carrier during the digestive process, carrying and assimilating the herbs deeper into tissues.
